Privacy
This site is a price index. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and nothing to buy, so there is very little to collect and we have gone out of our way to collect less than that.
What we record
Exactly one thing: when you tap a shop’s WhatsApp, phone, email or website link, we count that the tap happened before sending you on. That is how we know which listings are useful. The row contains:
- which shop, and which of the four channels you used;
- an opaque random identifier stored in a first-party cookie called
cb_s, so we can tell one visit from two. It is a random string. It is not derived from anything about you and it is not shared with anyone; - your browser’s language, primary subtag only:
en, neveren-GB,en;q=0.9; - the host of the page you arrived from, if any:
google.com, never the full URL; - the time.
What we deliberately do not record
- Your IP address. It is not stored anywhere in the click record.
- Any fingerprint. No canvas, no fonts, no screen metrics, no device hashing.
- Any third-party analytics or advertising tag. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no ad network on this site. Nothing you do here is sent to another company.
- The content of your conversation with a shop. Once you are handed to WhatsApp or a phone dialler, you are dealing with that business and we can see none of it.
The cookie, precisely
cb_s is first-party, HttpOnly (so no script on the page can read it), SameSite=Lax (so it is not sent on cross-site requests) and lasts 180 days. It is set only when you actually tap through to a shop: browsing this site sets nothing. It answers one question, “was this the same visitor?”, and it is not an advertising identifier and must never become one. Delete it in your browser and the next tap simply starts a new one.
Shops listed here
We publish business information: trading name, business address, published business contact details, prices and opening terms, each with the page we read it from and when. We do not publish an owner’s personal name, national identity number, or a number presented on their own site as private rather than as the business line, and where we have caught ourselves doing so, we have removed it.
Prices are read from each shop’s own website and re-checked on a schedule that follows how often they change them. We keep the history, so a price that has held for months is shown as such.
When a shop publishes no rate for the length of stay you asked for, we say so rather than estimating one.
What we keep when you write to us
Your message, the name you give and the email or phone number you leave, so that we can answer you and so there is a record of what we were asked to change. Nothing else: no IP address, no cookie is set by the form, and nothing you send is published on this site or passed to anyone.
We keep it while the matter is open and for a year afterwards, so that if the same listing is disputed again we can see what was already agreed. Ask us to delete it sooner and we do; that is not conditional on anything.
Where this data lives
Click records are written to an append-only file and loaded into a database we run ourselves. They are not sold, shared, or used for advertising, because there is no advertising here to use them for.
Most catalogue pictures are the manufacturers' own product renders. Two are photographs from Wikimedia Commons under CC BY-SA 4.0, and one of those is shown mirrored so every bike on the site faces the same way; the original file is unmodified. Every photograph, its photographer and its licence are listed on the photo credits page.
Everything on this page describes the code that runs at /go/<shop>. If the two ever disagree, the code is the truth and this page is a bug: tell us and we will fix it.
