About the KLX 230
A 233cc air-cooled single with long-travel suspension and a 21-inch front wheel. The SE is the standard trail bike, the SM the same machine on 17-inch road wheels. Fuel injected, kick-free electric start.

On Bali roads
Tall seat and soft suspension mean it wallows on the bypass and hates heavy traffic. Knobbly tyres are noisy and slow to warm up on wet tarmac; the SM version is the better choice if most of your riding is on roads.
Worth knowing. Needs a manual-motorcycle entitlement and an IDP. Seat height around 885 mm on the SE: shorter riders will tiptoe. Rental prices run two to three times a scooter's.
