About the BeAT

Honda's entry-level automatic and one of the best-selling vehicles in Indonesia. At 88kg it is the lightest thing in this catalogue, with a 742mm seat and a 4.2-litre tank. Mechanically it is the Scoopy with plainer clothes.

Who it suits

  • Lowest budget
  • Very short stays
  • Learning to ride

Take it if price is the only variable that matters. It does everything a Scoopy does for slightly less money and is the easiest bike here to physically manhandle out of a tight parking spot. Nothing about it is memorable, which for a rental is arguably the point.

On Bali roads

Fine for Canggu, Kuta, Sanur and Ubud in-town riding. Ubiquitous, so any warung mechanic can fix it and parts are on every corner.

Worth knowing. Rental BeATs are usually the oldest bikes in a fleet. Check the tyres and brakes before you accept one.
