About the Gear 125
The original Gear 125, before the Ultima's hybrid assist.
Still worth renting
Mechanically the simpler bike and usually the cheapest way into a 125. You lose the starter assist, which you will notice only in the first metre from a standstill. If you are renting a Gear it is for the luggage space and the low seat, and those are unchanged.
New, this generation listed at IDR 745.000 less than the current one: 4% cheaper to buy, which is why shops can rent it for less. Indonesian on-the-road prices for a new bike, not rental rates. Shops here rarely say which generation they are handing you, so ask.
